30周年を迎えて
現場から始まる、小さな実践をこれからも
NPO法人エスコットは、本年創立30周年を迎えることができました。
これまで活動を継続してこられたのは、会員の皆様、地域の皆様、関係企業・団体の皆様、そして様々な形でご協力いただいた多くの方々のおかげです。心より御礼申し上げます。
エスコットは設立以来、
- 環境
- エネルギー
- 物流
- 海洋
- 防災
- 資源活用
などの分野において、
「現場で本当に役立つか」
を重視しながら活動を続けてきました。
大規模な組織ではありませんが、その分、現場の課題に柔軟に向き合い、小さくても実際に動く仕組みづくりを大切にしてきました。
時代の変化と新たな課題
近年は、
- エネルギー価格の高騰
- 気候変動
- 猛暑化
- 災害リスク
- ドライバー不足
- 空コンテナ問題
- 養殖環境の悪化
など、社会課題が急速に複雑化しています。
一方で、社会にはまだ十分に活かされていない資源や技術、人のつながりも数多く存在しています。
エスコットでは、
「今ある資源をどう活かすか」
という視点を重視し、
- 太陽熱利用
- 人工湧昇
- GX物流
- Container Round Use（CRU）
- 資源共有
- 防災・省エネ技術
などの取り組みを進めています。
“所有”から“共有”へ
近年取り組みを進めている
「Kashikari（貸し借り・レント）」も、その考え方の一つです。使われていないモノ、設備、スペース、物流資源、技術などを必要とする人へつなぐことで、
- コスト削減
- 廃棄削減
- 地域活性化
- CO₂削減
につなげる。
これは単なる“貸し借り”ではなく、これからの社会に必要な「資源循環型の考え方」であると考えています。
物流とGXへの挑戦
物流分野では、
空コンテナ回送の削減や、国内貨物との組み合わせによる効率化など、Container Round Use（CRU）の実践にも取り組んでいます。
物流業界では今後、
- ドライバー不足
- 燃料価格上昇
- CO₂削減要請
への対応が避けられません。
その中で、
「運ぶ」だけではない新しい物流の仕組みづくり
が重要になると考えています。
次の30年へ
30周年は、単なる節目ではなく、新しい挑戦のスタートでもあります。
これからエスコットでは、
- 外部連携パートナー制度
- GX物流ネットワーク
- 国際連携
- 実証試験
- AI活用
- 社会資源共有
などをさらに進めていきたいと考えています。
大きなことを一気に変えるのではなく、
「現場から始まる実践」
を積み重ねながら、持続可能な社会づくりに貢献してまいります。

エネルギー価格高騰や災害時対応を見据え、
- 太陽熱利用
- 防災エコ窓
- 小規模分散型エネルギー
- 熱利用技術
など、実践的な省エネ技術の普及を進めています。
海洋環境・人工湧昇
近年深刻化する
- 高水温
- 貧酸素
- ノリ色落ち
- 魚類養殖被害
などに対し、
波動式湧昇ポンプによる海洋環境改善技術の研究・実証を進めています。
物流GX・コンテナ活用
物流分野では、
- 空コンテナ回送の有効活用
- Container Round Use（CRU）
- Inland Container Depot活用
- 国内貨物とのマッチング
- GX物流
など、新しい物流効率化モデルの構築に取り組んでいます。
資源を「所有」から「共有」へ
エスコットでは、
モノ・設備・スペース・物流資源・技術などを有効活用する
「社会資源共有」の考え方を推進しています。
その実践として、Kashikari（貸し借り・レント）
を運営し、
遊休資源の有効活用と持続可能な社会づくりを目指しています。
外部連携パートナー募集
30周年を機に、
エスコットでは新たに
「外部連携パートナー」
制度を開始しました。
物流・環境・技術・地域課題解決などの分野で、
緩やかに情報交換・連携できるネットワークづくりを進めています。
今後に向けて
これからの時代は、
- エネルギー
- 食料
- 物流
- 資源
- 地域社会
を「つなぎ直す」取り組みが重要になると考えています。
エスコットは今後も、

をテーマに活動を続けてまいります。

30th Anniversary Message
Building Practical Solutions for the Next Generation
NPO ESCOT marks its 30th anniversary this year.
Since our founding, we have continued our activities with a consistent belief:
“Valuable ideas and technologies already exist within society —
the key is how to connect them, refine them, and put them into practical use.”
Over the past three decades, we have worked across a wide range of fields including:
- Environmental and energy technologies
- International logistics and shipping
- Resource sharing and circular use
- Marine environmental protection
- Manufacturing and practical engineering
- Education, health, and international exchange
Rather than pursuing large-scale projects alone, ESCOT has focused on creating practical and flexible solutions rooted in real-world needs.
Our strength has always been our ability to connect different fields and people:
- engineers and logistics operators
- researchers and local communities
- environmental technologies and practical business applications
- domestic and international networks
In recent years, we have particularly focused on:
- GX (Green Transformation) initiatives
- Reduction of empty container transportation (CRU)
- Effective use of idle resources
- Low-energy environmental technologies
- Countermeasures against rising sea surface temperatures
including the development of our wave-actuated upwelling pump system, “Ocean Muddler.”
Although ESCOT is a relatively small organization, we believe that small organizations can often move faster, think more freely, and adapt more flexibly to emerging social challenges.
We are deeply grateful to the many companies, organizations, researchers, engineers, and individual supporters who have contributed to our activities over the years.
Looking ahead, ESCOT will continue working as a practical platform connecting:
- environment and industry
- technology and society
- local knowledge and international collaboration
while pursuing sustainable and realistic solutions for future generations.
